It's risky having a black woman as the main character. The gaming community is dominated by Caucasian men, which is not surprising in a culture where the majority are Caucasian to begin with. Nothing wrong with that, and it certainly not racism, even though you've been "programmed" to believe that. Many people will vote with their wallets, and if the game is lacking, of course they will bring up the choice of character, when people's natural bias is to play what they are. We have Kamala Khan, so what more do we need? Just kidding. A few years from now, I expect it to go right back to what it was. The amount of black actors in commercials these days is very funny. Some nights, I sit there and watch some TV, and every time a commercial comes on, I say, Black Lives Matter, and after the fifth commercial, I start to laugh. Even going so far as to destoy their own allies, because they wrong spoke, or committed a "Thoughtcrime". But no, it's wokness ONLY for their causes, and don't you dare cross them, or you will be made unemployed, ostracized, and cancelled off of social media. That goes hand in hand with the tolerance and compassion that the left is always bragging on what they are about. If you want to play as this woman, then good for you. Of course, if you go to other cultures, and watch their entertainment, what do you see? The actors are representative of the majority. Whether 'woke' or anti-woke' or whatever. If anything, blame capitalism for trying to pander to anyone. One reason people tend to be excited to announce the diversity in their projects is because they are finally able to tell the stories they have been wanting to. There really isnt any wokeness IMO, in fact i believe people are getting to tell the stories they want to much more now with less cancellation from the 'anti-woke' mob of the 20th century that muzzled anyone who dared venture away from the status quo of the hetero white male, single syllable (Jack, Jake, James.) name having protagonist. I dont know the specific ethnic breakup, but vast majority of their celebrities and charactets tend to be on the much lighter side with light colored eyes.īrazil, from what little ive seen appears to have a better makeup, though undoubtedly desparity is still there. My experience from other media has been the oppositve. Even destoying their own allies, because they wrong spoke, or committed a "Thoughtcrime". So I say, why I can't I play as a Caucasian male? ![]() Even so far, that Japanese developers were criticized and pressured to give in to this mob. On the surface, I just cringe at all this pandering, but in the end, if the character is likable, I might give them a chance, and that's if the game appeals to me.īefore, when the game had a male character, people complained all the time, why can't I play as a woman, and so and so on. Of course, if you go to other cultures, and watch their entertainment, what do you see? The vast majority of the actors are representative of the majority. You would think it's much higher with the current narrative. Yes, hard to believe, blacks are only 13.4% of the US population (other sources besides Wikipedia rate it as high at 16%), and here in Canada, it's 3.5%. In a few years, it will all be forgotten, and we will be back having entertainment being represented by the majority. Personally I think all these black characters is just a form of political correct pandering, to the current cause. Good thing we have you here telling us what we should like and don't like.
